More Adventures in Post Workout Meals

So we know that I don’t respond well to whey protein shakes as post workout meals.

Hemp protein was good for a while, but it tastes very hempy. Hemp has a distinct flavor, which can get old after a while.

On a recent trip to my local Whole Foods, I saw a sample pack of Jay Robb Egg White Protein.

I thought to myself: “I like eggs. I can eat egg whites without feeling sick. That guy on the packet looks like he knows what he’s talking about. I love chocolate…” So I bought a pack to try.

I made a really simple shake–just like I would have in the olden days of chocolate whey powder: 1/2 a frozen banana, 1 cup So Delicious Unsweetened Coconut Milk, 3 ice cubes and the packet of egg white protein.

It. Was. AWESOME.

Not only did this taste reeeeally good (just like I remember the guy at Gold’s Gym making them), it didn’t make me feel queasy at all! I drank it slowly to make sure I wouldn’t start feeling ill…and I survived. It was delish.

What are you thoughts on Egg White Protein versus Whey? Is one better than the other?
