{Super Bowl Recipe Re-Post} Slow Cooked Pulled Pork

Ta DA!

More Superbowl Recipes!

Can you tell that I’m excited?

I may or may not be wearing Patriot’s Sweatpants…for the rest of the week.

Yes, sweatpants are acceptable and greater than or equal to real pants.

Today’s Recipe:

Slow Cooked Pulled Pork

(originally posted November 2010)

Ingredients:

3lb Boneless pork shoulder

1/2 cup organic ketchup (or tomato paste with a splash of honey)

4 cloves of garlic, crushed

3/4 tsp Sage

1/2 tsp Oregano

1 tsp Sea salt

1 Tbsp maple syrup

DennyMikes Sweet and Spicy BahBQ Sauce (or other sauce of choice)

Trim the excess fat off of your pork shoulder–do a really good job, because otherwise the pulled pork will be too squishy.

Mix all of the ingredients, except the BBQ sauce together in the slow cooker and put the pork shoulder in, turning a few times to make sure it’s covered with sauce.

Cook on high for 6 hours, then shred with a fork and mix in the BBQ sauce to your heart’s desire.

There are some great Paleo BBQ sauce recipes floating around on the interwebs, just Google it.

Make it Paleo also has a delicious looking recipe–I have yet to try it, but I trust them.
