{Day 17} Thought is the Power that Becomes Things

If you want more money or good health, you will always be in ‘want’. If you’re thankful for the money and the good health that continues to come into your life, you with ‘have’

Good Morning!

If you always focus on trying to lose weight, you will always be trying.  If you focus on being your ideal weight, you will be.

There is more to weight loss than eating a healthy, balanced diet–there are many non-food factors that can help or hinder your progress.

How is your Primary Food doing today?

How is your relationship, your career, you home environment? Are you feeling balanced?

The non-food areas of your life are so important to good health–if one of these areas is out of balance, it can have a direct effect on your food choices and your happiness.

The Integrative Nutrition Pyramid is a wonderful representation of the components of a balanced lifestyle. With food and water in the middle surrounded by the four main areas of Primary Food: Relationship, Career, Spirituality and Physical Activity.

A lot of the people who I work with eventually figure out that their food issues stem from an imbalance in Primary Food: they are using food to fill a void.

So ask yourself: am I getting all of the nourishment from my life that I need? Or am I using food to fill a void?

If you find that you’re using food to play a role in  your life that it’s not capable of playing, explore those feelings and work to find balance.

What will you do today to find balance in your Primary Food?

Here’s what I’m going to do:

  1. Take some time away from the computer and read a book–reading is a relaxing, comforting activity to ease my nerves.
  2. Cook a delicious dinner. Cooking brings out the nurturer in me–I’m always more satisfied with my home environment when I’m cooking dinners at home.

What are you planning to do?
