Attack of the Killer Bikini

Well, it’s April and we all know what that means.

Bathing suit season is just around the corner.

I can say from personal experience that it totally sucks when you don’t feel ready to wear a bikini.

When you’re self conscious.

When you’re not radiating the health and confidence of which you know you’re capable.

Let me first say that this article is not about losing weight to look good in a bikini.

Anyone any size can wear a bikini.

Everyone’s tummy needs some sunshine and vitamin D.

This article is about radiating health.

Radiating health that leads to confidence.

I want you to feel so healthy that you glow with confidence and that you to look forward to wearing your bikini this summer.

Spring is all about new beginnings.

  • New warm weather….
  • Flowers blooming…
  • Renewed commitment to health goals…
  • Budding confidence…

Now is the time to take big steps toward your health goals.

To start living the healthy life that you want and deserve.

To love up your body and build your confidence so that when bikini season comes around, you’re strutting your stuff on the beach rather than wandering around in a giant t-shirt, dragging your lounge chair behind you.

Don’t get ambushed by the killer bikini: take steps to increase your health, build confidence and make friends with that bikini.

She really doesn’t want to hurt you, afterall.

Ready to be BFFs with that new two piece? Here are some things you can do to start moving in the right direction:

  • Set manageable, exciting goals. Think about where you would like to be in 3 months in terms of your health. How is your life different? What do you need to change in order to get to where you want to be? Sometimes it helps to work backwards: first think of the big picture and then break it down in to progressively smaller actions. Start with your 6 month goals then create your 3 month and one month goals.
  • Keep a positive focus. Image that you’ve already reached your goals. Focus on how you feel after reaching these goals. Sometimes if we think positively and pretend that we already have something, our positive energy draws that thing to us. If you want to lose weight, imagine what life is like after you lose the weight. How will you feel differently? How will you think differently? Sending positive energy into the world will help bring you what you want most.
  • Find an accountability buddy with similar goals. Adapting to changes in your diet and lifestyle is always easier when you’re not the only one making the changes.  Find a friend or family member who motivates you and who will work with you to integrate healthy changes into your life.  Make sure that this person will hold you accountable and that they are entirely supportive of your goals and that you are entirely supportive of their goals as well.

By setting inspiring goals, putting positive energy toward those goals and by getting support from family and friends, you will be motivated to keep reaching for your goals.

Getting healthy and building confidence for the summer can seem like a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be that way.

If you’re looking to get on the track to a healthier, happier, more vibrant lifestyle, now is a great time to seek the support of a health counselor or join a group of like-minded people working toward similar goals.
