Bluth Frozen Banana Bites

In honor of my favorite television show coming back from the dead on May 26th…

I made some delicious Bluth Frozen Banana Bites.

Frozen Banana Bites

I seriously love this show…like more than I love steak...which is a lot.

IMG_4998_1 Instead of using whole bananas, like the Original Bluth’s Frozen Banana, I made little banana and almond butter sandwiches. I really love this show…but for some reason, the only line I can quote right now is “there’s always money in the banana stand.”

IMG_4989_1 Then, I covered each little sandwich with chocolate.

Not once during this process did I think “I’ve made a huge mistake.”  Except for when my ghetto double boiler broke (aka glass bowl over pot of hot water).

A tribute to the Original Bluth's Frozen Banana
Recipe type: Dessert
  • 4 ripe bananas
  • Almond butter
  • Dark chocolate chips (I used one whole bag)
  • 2 Tbsp coconut oil
  1. Slice each banana into ½ inch slices.
  2. Make little almond butter sandwiches by spreading a dab of almond butter between two banana slices.
  3. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze for two hours.
  4. Once banana bites are frozen, melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil in a double boiler or glass bowl over a pan of hot water.
  5. Dip each banana bite into chocolate and place back on the baking sheet.
  6. Freeze for another 30 minutes and then enjoy!

IMG_5042 My favorite character is most likely Lucille.

IMG_5040 Or GOB…or all of them…because they’re all wonderful in their own, weird way.

Are you excited about the return of the Bluth Family? Who’s your favorite Arrested Development character? Feel free to share your enthusiasm in the comments below.

Michael: Why are you squeezing me with your body?

Lucille: It’s a hug, Michael. I’m hugging you.

“You gotta watch out for the hop-ons.”
Love the almond centers on these bananas!
